Concerns about unsafe conditions

Notifications of Concern about Unsafe Conditions include complaints about unsafe work practices or notifications about potentially unsafe conditions. These notifications are not required under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 (HSWA), but provide valuable information about the health and safety environment, and sometimes lead to investigations or assessments.

This report allows you to see where in New Zealand these concerns are coming from, and the industries they relate to.

Last updated to 30 November 2018.

This data contains all Notifications of Concern about Unsafe Conditions that have been notified to WorkSafe under HSWA.

The year and month variables are calculated based on the date WorkSafe was notified.  This may differ from the date the accident occurred.

Industry is based on the information initially provided to WorkSafe, and is sometimes updated as new information becomes available. While this report uses the Australia New Zealand Standard Industrial Classification (2006) system, the Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing Industry has been modified to provide additional detail.
