Outcome of investigation: 

The fire resulted in damage caused by an unknown make of foreign power supply used to charge an i pad type device. The charger was bought as a separate unit in Thailand and was powered through a New Zealand travel adaptor. It is believed that the charger was the cause of the fire. No details of the make of charger were able to be recovered.
