Facts in brief:
The defendant trains horses at a property containing stables and training tracks.

On the day of the incident, the defendant was driving a truck fitted with a water tanker to wet down and grade the outside track. The defendant allowed his son and a friend (the victim, aged 10 years old at the time of the incident) to ride on the truck while he carried out the work. The boys were jumping on and off the truck and were riding either on the rails on the side of the truck or on the platform at the back.

The victim was run over by the right rear wheels of the truck resulting in multi-trauma injuries
